Color Michael Lynche Maroon 5

Michael “Big Mike” Lynche may arguably be the most popular contestant of the Top 24, so no matter what he did tonight, he’d get votes. To his credit, at least he upped the snooze factor with a peppy song, Maroon 5’s “This Love.” Truthfully, he sang it OK, played the guitar (not that anyone probably heard it) and smiled a lot. The likeability factor will only take him so far, and he probably needs to step it up with a more challenging performance next week.

The judges all agreed that he lifted the air of depression hovering over the room after the previous 8 performances. Simon said “He was like the supporting act before the main act.”
