Acclaimed standup comedian Dave Chappelle, who has kept his career low-key since ending his Emmy-nominated Comedy Central sketch series “Chappelle’s Show” in 2006, will debut three Netflix specials next year.
The streaming-video service said Monday that Chappelle, 43, and director Stan Lathan (Chappelle’s 2005 Emmy-nominated special “For What It’s Worth”) will produce a new special and also release “two additional never-before-seen specials . . . directly from Chappelle’s personal comedy vault.”
The new special will be Chappelle’s first in 12 years.
A well-received recent guest host of “Saturday Night Live,” Chappelle ranks No. 6 in Forbes magazine’s current list of highest-earning comedians.
