Singer Debbie Gibson and her pro dance partner, Alan Bersten, wound up in the middle of the pack on “Dancing With the Stars” Monday night, as real estate executive and “Shark Tank” investor Barbara Corcoran became the first season 25 contestant to be eliminated.

Gibson, 47, raised in Merrick, and Bersten hit 20 out of 30 points with a quickstep set to Amy Stroup’s “This Is My Time,” with judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli giving them a 7, 6 and 7, respectively — each judge increasing his or her point by one over last week.

“The speed was there, 100 percent. Little bit lacking in control here and there,” Goodman critiqued. “But what I liked, you came out full-on high octane and you looked so confident. Well done.” An equally enthusiastic Tonioli suggested Gibson show a bit more exactitude in her footwork next dance, while Inaba enthused, “Every shape that you hit is so beautiful executed.”

The season’s second elimination takes place Tuesday night.
