Ballroom professional Derek Hough, a six-time "Dancing with the Stars" champion and a current judge on that ABC competition, revealed Tuesday he has tested positive for COVID-19.
"Hey, everyone. I have some news to share and I wanted you to hear it straight from me," the 36-year-old said in a short Instagram video. "Even though I've been fully vaccinated, I've just been diagnosed with a breakthrough case of COVID. I just found out. And I feel OK," he assured. "I feel strong. But I'm currently taking advice from medical professionals, [and] doing everything I can to get better as fast as I can. I’m currently in quarantine and I'll make sure I keep you guys all updated with what's going on," he said, and conveyed his love to his fans.
TV personality Maria Menounos and actor-dancer Jenna Dewan each posted get-well-soon comments. Hough, who had appeared on Monday's edition of "DWTS," added in the video post's accompanying Instagram caption, "UPDATE: This week's shows in Vegas will be rescheduled for a date soon, stay tuned and I'll announce the new dates shortly!"
His stage show, "Derek Hough: No Limit," began at The Venetian hotel-casino in Las Vegas on Sept. 22 and is scheduled to run through Nov. 21.
