Eight Is Enough
Series ABC's 1977 hour of everyday family life cast Dick Van Patten as a newspaper editor also wrangling the title brood, from on-his-own eldest to little cutie. (Yes, that's a laugh track you hear.) Original mom Diana Hyland died midseason (replaced that fall by Betty Buckley).
