CBS has killed "CSI: Miam." Its star David Caruso is expected to land somewhere else. Credit: Handout

While the cancellation of "CSI:  Miami" -- announced a bit earlier -- is about as surprising as CBS's renewal of "Two and a Half Men" for a tenth season -- announced yesterday -- we'd be remiss here at TV Zone not to mention it.

So consider it mentioned. It's been expected, and while I'm certain  many "CSI" and David Caruso fans will be disappointed, at least "CSI: NY" is coming back, and  I imagine Caruso will land somewhere soon.

Also gone: "A Gifted Man," "Rob,"  "Unforgettable," and "NYC 22." You correctly note: This is quite a blow to the New York production community. Three of these are New York City shows, shot here because this is the greatest city in the world, and because there is such a wealth of acting and production talent. But if the requisite number of viewers aren't going to watch, then that's that.
