Fox News' Major Garrett to CBS News
Major Garrett, one of the most visible figures at Fox News during its long ride to the top and beyond, has been named Chief White House correspondent for CBS News. He replaces Norah O'Donnell now at "CBS This Morning."
Garrett in fact hasn't been at Fox for a while, having made a move over to National Journal (he began in print at U.S. News & World Report), where he fostered recent ties with CBS News, as part of the network's primary debate team (and has appeared on "CBSTM.")
Nonetheless, it was at Fox — and to a somewhat lesser extent — where Garrett made his name, as one of the front-line of key correspondents, covering some of the biggest D.C.-based and political stories of the last decade. As part of his new gig at CBS, he'll be a stand-in at "Face the Nation," too.
