Long Island's very own primetime TV series got a third season pickup yesterday: "Royal Pains" will return.
The USA series is still in production, per the Hollywood Reporter and "Deadlinehollywood.com," which first reported last night, which is why it got the pick-up - don't want to strike the sets then rebuild everything (cast and crew) after they've left for vacation. The first season averaged under six million viewers - very solid - but don't have most recent numbers. Clearly, they are in the ballpark.
"White Collar" also picked up a third, while "Psych" got a sixth. Per "Deadline," "Pains" got an 18-episode order, up from16.
