'Grey's Anatomy' offs Lexie -- Chyler Leigh

So, the end on "Grey's Anatomy" finally came for Lexie -- kid sister of Meredith, onetime lover of Mark, on and off a fan favorite (or one of 'em) and absolutely a major character for five seasons now. Gone! Over! Adios! Just like that -- shuffling off the mortal coil while Mark -- Eric Dane -- looked on in horror. 

"Don't go Lexie omygoddon'tgoIloveyoutooIreallydopleasepleaseLexieholdon!!!"

And of course she went. They always do.

I should have seen this one coming -- particularly after that scene a few episodes ago -- a very good one in fact -- when Lexie (Chyler Leigh) professed her love for Mark in this torrent of "I love yous!!" That should of been the dead -- so to speak -- giveaway.

I thought last night's finale was pretty good. Manipulative, sure, but I'm pretty sure fans were satisfied. Any more deaths woulda been too many -- one was enough, and we needed most of the rest of the episode to absord the enormity of this one. 

It was clever of Shonda (Rhimes -- I just always call her Shonda or "Shon;" we're kind of on a first name basis even though I've never met her) -- to off Lex before the half-hour mark, leaving us to wonder ... who's next!!???

(In fact, Mark? Boy, that was a close call. Eric Dane dead? He must have signed a contract, too, though Shon wrote the scene probably so that he could gone either way.).

Some good scenes last night -- particularly the one between Owen "GI Joe" Hunt (Kevin McKidd) and Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) also a standout between April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson (Jesse Williams).

And, of course, deliciously silly scenes, too. Good job, captain! You not only do not know how to fly a plane but you don't even bother to stock it with a functioning radio or flare! (How do you spell "loser?) He's the anti-anti-ANTI-Sully.

But what the hell? What would dear old "Grey's Anatomy" be without a heapin' helpin' of hooey?

I give this finale a B+.
