Haley Reinhart shows her ugly side on 'American Idol'

Haley Reinhart is singing Michael Jackson's "Earth Song" next on "American Idol." It's not a great pick in my opinion. It doesn't fit her in any obvious way.

She comes across as melodramatic and a bit odd with her performance. Her voice is strong as always, but it just doesn't click for me. They show Casey Abrams clapping madly in the audience though.

Jennifer Lopez says she felt like she was super into it, but not a song that the audience will respond to. She basically tells her to pick a better song -- pretty harsh for J.Lo.

Randy Jackson piles on, telling her her the song doesn't fit her and that it was out of her high range. She tries to defend herself, says she thought it was "beautiful the way it was."

Wow. Randy is really getting into it with her and now Haley is snapping at him, a bit out of control . . . lots of people talking over each other. Steven Tyler jumps in, says Randy's wrong.

Not Haley's best moment. Randy was judging her, which happens to be his job. Let him finish, say your piece at the end -- don't try to drown him out . . . especially when you're in the wrong.She just wasn't very good.

Can't wait for her second song tonight There could be more fireworks.
