Holy Time Machine!
Today marks the 45th anniversary of "Batman," a series that became an overnight sensation and brought the concept of camp -- something that was so bad it was good -- into the mainstream.
All these years later there's still so much to love about the show (which btw is rerun weeknights at 11:30 on The Hub, the former Discovery Kids channel; who knew?): Adam West's wooden, earnest delivery, stately Wayne Manor, the guest stars who popped up when the Dynamic Duo were climbing up buildings... I could go on forever but let the show speak for itself. Here's a clip from that very first episode, which featured Frank Gorshin as The Riddler:
