Rachel Hale next on "American Idol," Southern girl with an unstoppable smile and "big accent." Singing "People Get Ready" -- big, soulful voice with a twang of emotion in there, simple but nice to listen to.

"Little Wynonna Juddish," says Keith Urban. "Really pretty, really striking, such a good energy," says Nicki Minaj. Yeah, big likeability; she has a "gorgeous smile," as Mariah Carey says, with Randy Jackson calling her big smile "infectious, you brighten up the room."

High schooler Briana Oakley next, says after she was on a TV show for talented kids she was "bullied severely," had to eat lunch either in the bathroom or with a teacher since she was always picked on.

Doing "Up to the Mountain" -- heartfelt and big, nice and slow. Judges just quietly listening, with smiles on their faces. What a great kid; "it was fantastic," says Urban

"Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow, wow," says Minaj, telling her "today is your moment." Jackson says she has "sheer natural talent," and she's through easily to Hollywood.

Matheus Fernandes closes the Queen Mary/Long Beach, Calif., auditions. Doing "A Changes Is Gonna Come," second time we're hearing it tonight. He's good; pouring a lot of emotion into it.

Urban "loved that," Fernandes is crying as the judges praise him; through easily.
