'Hell on Wheels:' Check it out

You may have heard about this new AMC series Sundays called "Hell on Wheels" and if so, my early read is a good one. Not for all tastes, not for most tastes, but it is ambitious and well-acted and nicely filmed (in Alberta).

Oh, and yes: It's a western. That's right. An honest-to-gawd western. Reviews have been decidedly mixed so far, and I can see some of the complaints, and briefly address them in my take. But overall my takeaway is positive, in part  because it is so different.
