The final three girls — Shelby Tweton, Ariel Sprague and Hollie Cavanagh — all get summoned to await the news from the judges. But there’s hardly any suspense here — because Hollie is the only one of the three who gets any amount of screen time among this trio, it’s obvious that she’s going to secure the last spot for the girls. And she does after we first see her a clip from her performing “Change the World” as she “sings for her life.”

Then it’s the boys’ turn, as David Leathers, 17, and Eben Franckewitz, 15, walk the last mile to see which of them has secured the last space among the boys. The judges cite David’s overconfidence for his missteps in Hollywood, while faulting Eben’s lack of confidence for his erratic moments. In the end, Eben secures the final spot, while a surprised David tries to hold back the tears.
