The Hollywood Walk of Fame has honored hundreds of TV stars since unveiling its first eight stars in 1958. So, it may be only fitting that on Aug. 30, 2011, TV actor Ed O'Neill, best known for his roles as Al Bundy on "Married. . .With Children" and more recently as Jay, the patriarch, on "Modern Family," will receive the Walk's 2,446th star.

What may also seem fitting to many couch potatoes is the fact that the cast of the "Jersey Shore" and "Real Housewives of NYC" won't be seeing stars on "The Walk" anytime soon.

In a recent posting on the Walk of Fame's Facebook page, Ana Martinez, v.p. of media relations and producer for the Hollywood Walk of Fame wrote, "Someone asked if we give reality show characters stars? Hell to the No!"

Martinez added in a CNN interview, "It's just not on the radar for us right now." And, she says, the Walk of Fame's criteria includes: "longevity in their field of entertainment, awards and other honors, and philanthropic work."

We'll have to assume that "GTL" isn't considered philanthropic work at this juncture in time. Sorry, Snooki.
