'Honeymooners' added to WPIX/11 weekend lineup

'The Honeymooners" is returning to WPIX/11 this fall as a regularly scheduled series, Newsday's Verne Gay reports. WPIX announced Tuesday that starting Sept. 14, the classic comedy starring Jackie Gleason as Brooklyn bus driver Ralph Kramden will air on Saturday and Sunday nights at 11 and 11:30 p.m. For many years, reruns of the show's "classic 39" episodes (from its 1955-56 season) were a weeknights-at-11:30 staple at WPIX. Since 1996, the station has aired a highly rated New Year's Eve "Honeymooners" marathon.
