Yesterday, "American Idol" launched "Idol Across America," a four-week experience tour traveling to 16 cities across the United States. On the vehicle, U.S. residents ages 15 and older can record Ryan Seacrest’s famous show-opening line,"This is American Idol," and be entered into a contest for a chance to win a trip to Hollywood and deliver the line onstage with Seacrest.
Inside the bus fans can view one-of-a-kind "Idol" memorabilia, including framed platinum records, a suit worn by Ryan Seacrest, Carrie Underwood’s finale dress and David Cook’s guitar. There are also photos and "Welcome Home," a documentary showcasing all nine past "Idol" winners.
Fans can also participate in a "Be Your Own Idol" singing experience and pose for photos at the "Idol" judges’ table alongside life-size facsimiles of Seacrest or judges Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler. The photos can be picked up online.
The bus will be in New York on Feb. 24 and 25. Go to www.americanidol.com/news/view/pid/4196/ for more information, eligibility and complete rules for the contest.
