"American Idol" just announced all this during a live streaming feed on its website. What was so amusing about the announcement is that there was a rather significant technical problem - no sound! Only toward the end did sound break in, just in time to hear JLo say something like "I want the next Michael Jackson" or "I want to be the next Michael Jackson." Honestly, it was not entirely clear which.

Hey, it was just a tech glitch! No big deal! (Yeah, right, and it's no big deal when a black cat crosses in front of you either.)
