Playfully signing her missive "The Duchess of Long Island," comedy star Amy Schumer joined Paramount+ on Tuesday to announce on their respective social media that the long-awaited fifth season of "Inside Amy Schumer" would premiere on the streaming service on Oct. 20.
She jokingly concluded, referring to the recent death of Britain's Elizabeth II, "It's what the Queen would have wanted."
Schumer — whose current comedy tour takes her to the NYCB Theatre at Westbury Thursday after two dates this past weekend at Madison Square Garden's Hulu Theater — went on from the show to star in movies and on Broadway, earning a Tony Award nomination for lead actress in a play for her work in 2018's "Meteor Shower." "Inside Amy Schumer," in addition to its Emmy, also was a 2014 recipient of a Peabody Award, which honors both journalism and entertainment that "reflect the pressing social issues and the vibrant emerging voices of our day."
