Playfully signing her missive "The Duchess of Long Island," comedy star Amy Schumer joined Paramount+ on Tuesday to announce on their respective social media that the long-awaited fifth season of "Inside Amy Schumer" would premiere on the streaming service on Oct. 20.

"Hey yo! I wanted to bring back 'Inside Amy Schumer' to burn any remaining bridges," the Rockville Centre-raised Schumer, 41, wrote in an image of a draft letter, complete with doodles and copy editing marks. The provocative and often risqué series, which ran from 2013 to '16 on the basic-cable network Comedy Central, "is returning for another season, and it's better than ever. Well, not as good as season 3," which won a 2015 Emmy Award for outstanding variety sketch series. "But close."

She jokingly concluded, referring to the recent death of Britain's Elizabeth II, "It's what the Queen would have wanted."

Schumer — whose current comedy tour takes her to the NYCB Theatre at Westbury Thursday after two dates this past weekend at Madison Square Garden's Hulu Theater — went on from the show to star in movies and on Broadway, earning a Tony Award nomination for lead actress in a play for her work in 2018's "Meteor Shower." "Inside Amy Schumer," in addition to its Emmy, also was a 2014 recipient of a Peabody Award, which honors both journalism and entertainment that "reflect the pressing social issues and the vibrant emerging voices of our day."

RAISING THE BARR After largely being absent from the screen following her TV show's cancellation in 2018 in the wake of a racist tweet, comedian Roseanne Barr will return early next year in a comedy special on Fox Nation. "A Roseanne Comedy Special" will be her first stand-up special in 16 years, the streaming service said Tuesday in its announcement. The show will feature "Barr's signature comedic take on a variety of topics, with no subject off limits,"
