"American Idol" season three contestant and music and film star Jennifer Hudson will be the new voice of CBS' "One Shining Moment" song, which runs under the highlights that are the traditional end to the NCAA men's basketball tournament.

Hudson replaces the voice of Luther Vandross, who in turn replaced Teddy Pendergrass.

CBS showed a clip of Hudson singing the song during its NCAA mens basketball brackets selection show, which kicks off March Madness.

You might be surprised at how important that song is to college basketball players; a lot of them over the years have mentioned how they grew up watching the highlights clip, and imagining themselves hitting the winning shot at the end of it.

I think she's a great choice; she has a distinctive, driving voice that'll pair well with the drama of the highlights.

More information on the song is at Wikipedia. Get a breakdown of the brackets here, and click here to enter our brackets challenge (you could win $100,000).
