The second edition of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" is now officially history -- and the third will be history at this time tomorrow, but that's another post -- and as part of this historic occasion: Jerry Seinfeld.

There were two Jerrys last night -- the stand-up Jerry and the sit-down Jerry.  Here are both clips for those who may have missed them (app readers, go to newsday.com/tvzone, please).

Meanwhile, the second edition was good, too. Fallon is not abandoning effective material from the old (now it's "old?!") "Late Night," specifically in this instance, the Barbershop Quartet, singing a scarily enthusiastic version of R Kelly's "Ignition (Remix.)"

With lyrics like this...

I'm not tryin to be rude, But hey pretty girl I'm feelin you The way you do the things you do Remind me of my Lexus coupe Thats why im all up in yo grill Tryina get you to a hotel You must be a football coach The way you got me playin the field...

... how can you fail?

Seinfeld, who was part of the entourage that visited the last Jay Leno shows, helped get the party underway.

Bottom line: Two editions in, "The Tonight Show" is working.
