 Wow, she starts it hushed, sitting on the piano. Lots of emotion in her voice; this is Sanchez at her vocal best. Has a great, crackly tone to her voice, and still soars on the lyrics. I can actually imagine this being a hit, played on the radio all summer, even though it's poppy. 
 Nicely done; gets Jennifer Lopez beaming. "I did not love the song, but what I did love is you made something more out of the song," says Randy Jackson. I agree, the performance was good because of what she did with it, not because the song or choice was inherently great. 
 Lopez says she wouldn't have picked a pop ballad for her first single, would've made it something more soulful, with more blues. She tells her to "know all your options as an artist" and to tell her producers what she wants to do. 
 That's good advice; she's only 16, so she needs to learn to not always defer to the adults around her. 
 Sanchez essentially tells the audience afterwards not to worry, her first record will be more in her voice.
