Preacher's son Joshua Ledet was up first Wednesday night on "American Idol."
The 20-year-old belted out the judges choice: an Etta James number called "I'd Rather Go Blind."
Ledet did a powerful rendition of the classic song, bringing his gospel roots to the tune.
His version of the song brought the judges and audience to their feet.
"This is another Joshua moment," Steven Tyler said. "Out of 70,000 their is only one 'American Idol,' and you sang like that one tonight."
Randy Jackson explained the judges made the pick because of the classic, old-school feel to Ledet's voice. Seems it worked well for him.
