Kris Allen gets Vikings-Saints started, 'American Idol' style

'American Idol's' Kris Allen sang the national anthem at the start of the NFC championship game between the Minnesota Vikings and host New Orleans Saints Sunday, with the winner going on to face the Indianapolis Colts in the Super Bowl.
Kris, a native of Conway, Arkansas, was introduced as "your current reigning 'American Idol.'" Uh, versus your past reigning 'Idol'?!
Allen was in his usual smooth form, as an enormous American flag was unfurled on the Superdome floor. The jazzed-up crowd sang along, and erupted in a huge roar of noise at the end.
