Kristin Chenoweth leaves 'The Good Wife' after on-set injury

The injury Kristin Chenoweth suffered last month on the set of "The Good Wife" has forced her to leave her recurring role as a political reporter on the hit CBS drama.
"It is with deep regret to inform everyone that due to my injuries, I am unable to return to 'The Good Wife' at this time," Chenoweth said in a statement to People magazine Monday. "[I'm] getting better slowly, and thank you, everyone, for your concern."
Chenoweth, 44, will appear on the season-four opener on Sept. 30, People said.
The singer-actress, who won a 1999 Tony Award for featured actress in a musical for the Broadway revival of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," as well as a 2009 Emmy for supporting actress in a comedy, for "Pushing Daisies," sustained head injuries on "The Good Wife's" Brooklyn set when a piece of lighting equipment fell on her. She was hospitalized and released the following day.
CBS Television Studios, which produces "The Good Wife," issued a statement Monday afternoon saying, "We enjoyed having Kristin on the show and would love to have her back when she's feeling better."
