Lauren Alaina doesn't 'shine beyond belief' on 'American Idol'
"American Idol" kicks off its pre-taped finals with dynamo Lauren Alaina singing a song from her "personal idol," Shania Twain -- "Any Man of Mine."
It's not a great song choice. She's got a good sense of fun in her voice, and seems very country, but it's just OK for me; nothing memorable.
Steven Tyler says he wishes she had done more. Jennifer Lopez wants her to now "kick it into high gear." Randy Jackson says you sang it well, but wants her to sing something that lets her "shine beyond belief."
She drawls to Ryan Seacrest, "Well, I had a good time...." And then apologizes; hmm, she may be a bit out of her league here.
