Lauren Gray, Neco Star, Heejun Han rise to the top on 'Idol'
Lauren Gray, Wendy Taylor, and Mathenee Treco doing "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" next on "American Idol." Wow, Gray gets it off to a great start; slooow, husky, sultry, heartfelt, gets Jennifer Lopez shaking in excitement. She has that X-factor in her voice, one to watch.
Taylor is controlled too, Treco is nothing special, oddly. "Wow" is all Steven Tyler says afterward. Gray and Taylor move on.
Jairon Jackson, Neco Star, Heejun Han, Phil Phillips up next, with "I Only Have Eyes for You," vocal coach Peggy Blu is giving them her usual tough love treatment, by the end tells them, "I'm loving it."
Yeah, totally looking forward to this. Star is so sweet and perfect at the start, didn't know he could sing like that. Jackson keeps it going, then Han just pours his soul into it; they're dancing right on the line between tender and cliche.
Their voices blend really well, they're another group that could just go tour right now. Judges love them -- and they're all through! They fall to the ground, it's funny to watch.
Han just seems stunned, in tears. For once he's not cracking sly, nice to see him without shields up for a moment.
