Lee Dewyze plowed by Snow Patrol

Lee Dewyze said he wanted to do a song that would show his personality. So of course, he chose “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol. OK, with the personality card misplayed, Lee screamed a good part of the song and the harshness of his voice really came through on the high notes.

Ellen said she loved the tone of his voice, even though he seemed to be stretching in parts. Randy said he thinks of Lee as a hard rocker, and he should be doing songs by Kings of Leon rather than Snow Patrol. Kara thought he changed the song up so much that it was unrecognizable. Simon, surprisingly, called it the best performance of the night and hopes he’ll emulate David Cook and take songs by other artists and tailor them to his voice.
