When Paramount Network's musical competition "Lip Sync Battle" returns for season 5 in January, one episode will be devoted to the Huntington-born and Greenlawn-raised Mariah Carey.

The pop star, 49, appears live onstage in the episode shot in September at CBS Studio Center in Los Angeles. Singer-actor Darren Criss ("Glee") and rapper-producer Jermaine Dupri will lip-synch to Carey songs. Carey herself will be featured as part of a performance, a spokeswoman for the network said, noting, "She does not necessarily perform." The episode will run next month sometime after the Jan. 17 season premiere.

Manhasset's LL Cool J and Chrissy Teigen host. Five-time Grammy Award winner Carey has not commented on social media.
