Mariah Carey will join “The Voice” as an adviser during the knockout rounds, starting Monday. The Greenlawn native is looking to raise her profile as she gets ready to release her new album, “Caution,” on Nov. 16.

"The sessions with the contestants, some of them have completely blown me away," Carey said after her new “Voice” role was announced on the "Today" show. "It's like a humbling experience to be around all the raw talent . . . I really enjoyed it."

Carey’s stint advising the remaining 32 “Voice” contestants marks her first return to a singing competition since her controversy-filled run on “American Idol” in 2013.
