Matt Dillard, whose family has taken in a lot of foster children, is next up on "American Idol."

Man, they've had 700 foster kids through the decades. That's amazing. He seems like a really good guy.

He's in overalls and rolls out a pitch-perfect, tone-perfect "You Raise Me Up."

Oh, man, he's got just natural aw-shucks charm. He is gonna do well on this show. Judges are split but he gets through!

Man, he scores off the charts on the likability charts for me.
