Savannah Guthrie returned from maternity leave Monday -- and as reward, got to wear a dunce cap on "The Tonight Show" and deal with a series of questions about Taylor Swift's new album and sundry other major issues of the day. Matt Lauer helped her share the burden.
Meanwhile, during MSNBC's coverage of the elections Tuesday, the firm alarm went off. What it is about fire alarms and NBC News? Same thing happened on "Nightly News" a few years back -- Brian Willaims gamely pushed on, and maybe even thought of responding; after all, he was a volunteer fireman back in the day.
