Meredith Baxter joins 'The Young and the Restless'
Venerable actress Meredith Baxter will appear throughout the fall in the top-rated soap opera "The Young and the Restless." TV Guide reported Monday that the former "Family Ties" star, 67, will begin with the Sept. 8 episode. She plays Maureen, whom CBS described as a charming but manipulative "drinking buddy" of socialite Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). The Emmy-nominated actress, who starred in "Bridget Loves Bernie" (1972-73) and "Family" (1976-80) in addition to "Family Ties" (1982-89), guest-starred in the 2013 season finale of "Glee."
