Big news out of Showtime: The new pilot based on Thomas Maier's 2009 bio of William Masters and Virginia Johnson has now cast Michael Sheen in the lead, along with Lizzie Caplan. This -- as the saying goes -- is a boffo cast.
Maier is the brilliant Newsday investigative reporter whose 2009 book, "Masters of Sex: The Life and Times of William Masters and Virginia Johnson, the Couple Who Taught America How to Love," is the basis for this new series.
