NBC cancels 'Heroes'
"Heroes" is no more.
In a 2010 fall lineup heavy-to-stuffed with new hour dramas, there was one conspicuous absence Sunday.
And if anyone has been paying attention to the ratings, it was also expected.
NBC executives said Sunday they would explore a two-hour "Heroes" movie for the low-rated series (6.5 million viewers) which would officially wrap the tale of a cheerleader and her pals out to save the world.
Otherwise, the show that drew a huge cult following and dragged NBC briefly into the realm of cool is gone forever.
"Heroes" joins "Law & Order" as the most notable cancellation on the network's new lineup. Nevertheless, the 2010-11 post-Jay-Leno-in-primetime world order at NBC still has plenty of new shows.
