Pete Seeger, who died Monday at age 94, was not normally associated with TV, but his few associations were vivid. He  (briefly) hosted a public TV music series in the mid '60s and would appear on "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour" -- his presence a matter of controversy while his initial appearance had been excised, and later reinstated. He had appeared before the House Un-American Activities Committee, then refused to testify, which led to a contempt conviction. That effectively ended any TV appearances until the mid-60s.  A couple of clips -- the first is the performance excised from "The Smothers Brothers;" which later aired; next his "Rainbow Quest" episode which featured June Carter and Johnny Cash.
