Phylicia Rashad, best-known for her Emmy-nominated role as Clair Huxtable on "The Cosby Show," will appear on NBC's "This Is Us."

Entertainment Weekly said Tuesday that Rashad, 70, will guest-star in an episode playing Carol, mother of Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson), during the latter half of Season 3. The show returns from winter hiatus on Tuesday.

Theater Hall of Fame inductee Rashad, who won a Tony Award for Broadway's "A Raisin in the Sun," has a recurring role on "Empire" and on OWN's upcoming "David Makes Man," and played the Michael B. Jordan character's adoptive mother in the two "Creed" films.
