After a season of being lost in Los Angeles, "Project Runway" returns to New York for season 7, on Jan. 14 at 10 p.m. on Lifetime.

There's a colorful new crop of designers whose hometowns are as diverse as Taipei, Taiwan; Zagreb, Croatia; and er, Livingston, N.J. While the players may be new, the cast remains the same, with mentor Tim Gunn and the mighty HeidiKlum who will host and judge, along with fan faves Michael Kors and Nina Garcia, who rarely appeared together last season because of the location.

The show's now-patented formula will remain the same as well. One player is "aufed" each week until the showdown in the tents at New York Fashion Week. Once again this is problematic, as the finalists will reveal their final collections in February, though only a few episodes will have aired. A Lifetime rep says, "No determinations have been made yet on how we will present the show."

One change: the prizes. There's still the editorial spread in Marie Claire, the opportunity to sell the line at Bluefly.com and $100,000 seed money from L'Oreal Paris. But this time around, the winner also receives a $50,000 technology suite by HP and Intel.
