Champion signs off as 'GMA' weathermanWith tears and a final "That's the weather around the nation, ladies and gentleman," weather forecaster Sam Champion bid adieu to "Good Morning America" yesterday after more than seven years with the show, Newsday contributor Frank Lovece reports. "I'm going to miss you and you are the best live broadcaster I've ever worked with," "GMA" co-anchor Josh Elliott told Champion, 52, now moving to The Weather Channel as managing editor. Fellow "GMA" anchor Robin Roberts, calling him "a Renaissance man," introduced a video montage of Champion's work through the years. Champion joined WABC/7 in 1988, moving to ABC News and "GMA" in 2006.
