'Saturday Night Live' toasts 'All My Children'

Oh hell, what would a weekend in late September be without someone in the press -- many someones in the press -- saluting the premiere of "Saturday Night Live" as though some sort of  major cultural event had just taken place, and then going on to whine about How it''s Just Not That Funny Anymore, etc.?

It wouldn't be a late weekend in September, that is what. 

Last night actually seemed pretty good to me -- sure, a rather longish cold open; amusing host open, with Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin and a strangely underutilized Seth Rogen; followed by this: A toast to "All My Children." Here's a clip followed by Radiohead. Happy 37th, "SNL:"
