Scotty McCreery goes old-school country, Steven Tyler shows he's 'insane' on 'American Idol'
"American Idol" is hanging out with the cheeseheads in Milwaukee, Wisc. -- at the art museum, no less, with its soaring wing-like annex designed by one of my favorite architects, Santiago Calatrava.
Deep-voiced Scotty McCreery is up first, looks clean-cut, plays baseball and sings country music.
Pours out "Your Man," and it's pretty amazing, actually. He totally sounds like a country star yet he's just 16.
Steven Tyler goes foul in his praise afterward, of course, while Randy Jackson likes how he's a "throw-back country guy." They keep talking about "discovering" him afterward, as Randy tells Tyler he's "insane."
