Actor-comedian and former "The View" panelist Sherri Shepherd, whose previously announced new daytime talk show replaces the recently canceled "The Wendy Williams Show," will launch her syndicated series on Sept. 12.

Production company Debmar-Mercury, making the announcement Tuesday, added that "Sherri" has been picked up by stations representing more than 97% of the U.S. TV market. Like "The Wendy Williams Show," it will be seen in New York on the Fox-owned WNYW/5.

The premiere date "can't get here fast enough," Shepherd, 55, the most popular of the guest hosts who filled-in for the chronically ill Williams this final season, said in a statement. "Hosting my own talk show is a dream come true and I'm so excited to take viewers on this joyous journey. My new show will be something truly fun and fresh, a daily hour of entertainment escapism with plenty of laughter, fun and flirtiness as I give my take on pop culture. And I'm so glad to have such an awesome senior production team helping to make this magic a reality."
