" Breaking In " The series centers on a team of uniquely skilled oddball geniuses hand-picked to work for Oz (Christian Slater), the manipulative mastermind owner of Contra Security in BREAKING IN premiering Wednesday, April 6 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. Credit: FOX/Richard Foreman

Is it really hacking/stealing if you're doing it on behalf of would-be victims? Heck, no, Han Solo! So Christian Slater's cyber-crew has a clean conscience when he assigns them to crash security systems before the bad guys do.

Harrison is "just your average 27-year-old college student with 12 majors living the dream" when he gets sucked into the Slater vortex, where he immediately becomes smitten with a geek goddess/safecracker played by Odette Annable, channeling her inner Olivia Munn (G4's "Attack of the Show").

Others feeling the force in this sharp cast are the requisite black geek (Alphonso McAuley), also a serious prankster and Shatner stalker; the nerd geek (Trevor Moore), also a mind-messer-upper; the love object's wacko current boyfriend (Rosenbaum, having a blast), who (un)suitably sells clean urine for drug tests, and, last but yes least, the creepy older (as in 40) woman (Jennifer Irwin).

MY SAY In case you couldn't tell, "Breaking In" is aimed at geeks -- there's instant/constant talk about naked women, "Star Wars" and speaking Klingon. There's lots of less-than-tasteful dialogue, as well.

Sad thing is, I'm a geek girl myself, who'd be happy to love this mad mix of technology, action and "humor" if it were, you know, actually funny more often than just cheaply offensive.

BOTTOM LINE Less pander, more wit, please.
