'SNL Weekend Update Thursday' begins with soft target: '47%'
There's little doubt many high fives and many low fives were exchanged on the 17th floor of 30 Rockefeller Plaza earlier this week after the Mother Jones tape of Mitt Romney surfaced declaiming the 47-percent-who-would-never-vote-for-me. After all, “SNL Weekend Update Thursday” was about to launch and writers did need material and ... suddenly manna from heaven!
But watch this cold open from last night's launch it's both funny and sympathetic to the GOP nominee. Not so to “Fox and Friends,” long a favorite target.
Now the “SNL” writers need to do is find fresh material for this Saturday ... any ideas?
