Stewart on miner coverage...
There may be no more primal an urge in the TV newsman's soul than the need to cover a story involving someone stuck in a hole. The elements are perfect for the medium - triumph of the human spirit, a happy ending, and a stable camera shot. So yes, the story of 33 humans stuck in a deep hole has been the TV story of TV stories - at least for this week (because it is said - TV has a very very short memory.) So yes, the coverage has been exhaustive, often good, and occassionally over the top (and into the ravine.)
