The fifth movie in Syfy’s cheesy “Sharknado” franchise now has a name: “Sharknado 5: Global Swarming,” the network announced Thursday. And we now know the plot: Recurring stars Fin Shepard (Ian Ziering), his bionic wife (Tara Reid) and their young son trapped in a traveling twister and transported to shark-infested London, Rio, Tokyo, Rome, Amsterdam and elsewhere.

Syfy also announced “5” will also feature the usual array of cameo appearances. They include music stars Clay Aiken, Charo, Bret Michaels and Olivia Newton-John, comics Margaret Cho, Gilbert Gottfried and Chris Kattan, athletes Tony Hawk, Gus Kenworthy and Greg Louganis, “Today” hosts Al Roker, Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, model Fabio, and reality-TV stars Tiffany “New York” Pollard and Porsha Williams, among others.

Following the original 2013 telefilm as well as “Sharknado 2: The Second One” (2014), “Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!” (2015) and “Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens” (2016).

As previously announced, the movie airs Aug. 6.

Anthony C. Ferrante returns as director for The Asylum production, with Scotty Mullen succeeding the previous films’ Thunder Levin as screenwriter. The movie’s tagline is “Make America Bait Again!”
