It's been a newsy couple of weeks for guys named Andy, both real and fictitious. Andy Rooney aired his last regular "60 Minutes" essay, and Andy Bernard (Ed Helms) got promoted to Michael Scott's old job as Scranton branch manager on "The Office." So indulge me for a moment here while I celebrate five more of my TV namesakes.
1. ANDY DWYER (Chris Pratt, "Parks and Recreation," left) -- Aspiring rocker, shoeshine boy and now Leslie Knope's assistant. Clearly on the fast career track.
2. ANDY DEVINE (Andy Devine, "Andy's Gang") -- Gravelly voiced movie sidekick turned kids' TV host who was perpetually tormented by Froggy the Gremlin.
3. ANDY RICHTER (Conan O'Brien's sidekick, left) -- Ed McMahon for the generation that has no idea who Ed McMahon was.
4. ANDY SIPOWICZ (Dennis Franz, "NYPD Blue") -- Easily TV's gruffest and most problem-plagued lawman.
5. ANDY TAYLOR (Andy Griffith, "The Andy Griffith Show") -- Easily TV's nicest and least problem-plagued lawman.
