Give a big shout-out to Dick Van Dyke - the versatile actor turns 85 on Monday. For six decades, from "The Dick Van Dyke Show" to "Diagnosis Murder," he has been a reliable presence on our TV screens. To mark the occasion, let's take a look at five of Van Dyke's more unusual tube appearances:

The Phil Silvers Show (1957) - Van Dyke's TV debut was as Pvt. Hank Lumpkin, a hillbilly with raw baseball skills whom the scheming Sgt. Bilko (Phil Silvers) recruited to play for his platoon's team. (The episode also was notable for cameos by several Yankees, including Phil Rizzuto, Whitey Ford and Yogi Berra.)

The Morning After (1974) - In this TV-movie, Van Dyke, right, played a successful public relations man who refused to admit his drinking problem. (After the movie aired, Van Dyke admitted he also had overcome a drinking problem.)

Matlock (1986) - In the first episode of the Andy Griffith legal drama, Van Dyke played a judge who murders his mistress, frames her lover and then presides over the man's trial.

Airwolf (1987) - In this action-adventure drama (whose primary star was a high-tech helicopter), Van Dyke guest-starred as a fiend named Malduke, who threatens to destroy a freighter containing atomic waste if the world's nations don't move people with contagious diseases into isolated colonies.

Becker (1999) - Van Dyke played Fred Becker, estranged father of Ted Danson's rude title character, Dr. John Becker.
