Bob Saget returns to TV this week with his own reality show "Strange Days With Bob Saget" (Tuesday at 10 p.m. on A&E), which explores quirky subcultures. You most likely know that Saget's most famous TV role was as single dad Danny Tanner on "Full House," that he was the original host of "America's Funniest Home Videos" and that he is the unseen narrator on "How I Met Your Mother." Here are five things you might not have known:

1. He attended Temple University's film school, where he created "Through Adam's Eyes," a film about a boy who received reconstructive facial surgery, and was honored with an award of merit in the Student Academy Awards.

2. His first TV appearance was in 1981 on the Tom Hanks sitcom "Bosom Buddies." He played "Bob the Comic."

3. In 1987, he became one of the co-hosts of "The Morning Program," yet another attempt by CBS to compete (unsuccessfully, of course) with "Today" and "Good Morning America."

4. He directed the 1996 ABC TV-movie "For Hope," which was inspired by the story of his sister, Gay Saget, who had died from scleroderma three years earlier.

5. He wrote, directed and starred in "Farce of the Penguins," a parody of 2005's March of the Penguins, which was released direct-to-DVD in 2007.
