Ted Turner sends birthday greetings to CNN

Seldom seen these days a and heard from even less a Ted Turner taped a birthday greeting to CNN that was posted on CNN.com earlier Monday. 

Turner, 76, founded CNN exactly 35 years ago Monday a to a choir of doubters, cheerleaders, gawkers, and otherwise puzzled bystanders who had no idea what this fascinating man was up to THIS time. (A 24-hour news network? Surely you jest, Mr. Turner). 

Turner's CNN changed journalism, television and, as a result, history. These past 35 years have had their ups and a few downs. But those facts remain. So happy birthday indeed.
